The Software Engineering Research Unit (SERU -- pronounced "say-ru") is a research unit in the Software Engineering and Business Analytics (SEBA) cluster of the Faculty of Information and Communication Technology, Mahidol University. SERU was established on 19th October 2018 by three founding members: Thanwadee Sunetnanta, Morakot Choetkiertikul, and Chaiyong Ragkhitwetsagul.
Objectives
The objectives of SERU are as follows.
To improve the quality of the software development process and the software products, especially for software companies in Thailand.
To experiment with several research methodologies and cutting-edge techniques such as repository mining, empirical studies, deep learning, code search, and software visualizations.
We have 2 editions of the SERU logo. Both of them share the common color theme. We use the oceanic green and cream colors to represent the Faculty of ICT and the dark blue color represents Mahidol University.
The first edition was created at the beginning of October 2018 by Chaiyong Ragkhitwetsagul. The SERU name is in oceanic green and cream to represent the Faculty of ICT. The blue wave below the text has a dark blue color which represents Mahidol University.
The second edition was created in Jun 2023. It was designed by Miss Sirirat Wittayakunsatid (thanks!), Audio Visual, and Digital Learning Media Development Division at the Faculty of ICT, Mahidol University. It follows the same color theme as the first edition. The composition of the S consists of two components lightly connected to each other, like software, its fast-changing nature, and its dependencies
